Examinees have typically completer or nearly completed a bachelor’s degree program with appropriate coursework in physics and education. These fundamental concepts and processes are useful in understanding the natural world. Insofar as possible, then, the test questions will have the primary objective of evaluating the content areas by using that focus on conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and problem solving in science. The exam will take 2 hours and cost for $80 and it has 100 multiple choice questions. This exam has six categories which are mechanics; electricity and magnetism; optics and waves; heat and thermodynamics; modern physics, atomic and nuclear structure; history and nature of science, science technology and social perspective.

The PRAXIS II Physics Content Knowledge 0261 exam is a specialized assessment tool to test the knowledge and competencies required for a starter teacher of physics in secondary schools. Examiners taking this examination must have a bachelor’s degree in physics.

As an overview of the test, this praxis 2 assessment has 50 multiple choice questions and has duration of one hour. The use of calculators is prohibited during the test. These questions test the knowledge of the examiner in physics: scientific principles, facts, methodology, and philosophy in the content areas of mechanics, electricity and magnetism, optics and waves, and special topics in modern physics.

The test assesses examinees ability to use and analyze critical science concepts in physics and to integrate knowledge from science, technology and society. Examinees have typically completed or nearly completed a bachelor’s degree program in physics with appropriate coursework in education. This exam will take the examinee 1 hour to answer and costs $80. The areas of content knowledge include matter and energy, fields and waves, and the impact of physics on technology and society. This exam has three essay questions.
